The Pendo settings are used to manage your subscription and control the behavior of your web and mobile apps.
Subscription Settings
To access the subscription settings:
- In the Pendo Navigation bar, go to Settings > Subscription Settings.
- Scroll down to view the General settings.
Click any of the headings to view the subscription settings.

Bevy | Enable OAuth for Bevy to allow your Pendo users to sign into Pendo Neighborhood events and meetups using their Pendo login credentials. |

Display Name |
The display name of the subscription. This is directly editable by admins in the subscription. |
Time Zone |
The time zone that the subscription is set to. Changing this requires all events to be reprocessed for the sub - which will make data unavailable for up to a few days if there is a lot of data. |
Enabled Login Methods |
This indicates which login methods are currently available for your account but not enforced. Username & Password - This is the default login method - where a user sets a 'local' Pendo password. Google G-Suite - If the user's email in Pendo is a Google email account, they can use Google SSO to sign in to Pendo. SAML SSO - Setting up SAML requires an OPS ticket to be created. This allows people to sign in using SAML providers like Okta. |
Roles and Permissions Version |
As the name suggests, indicates whether the subscription is utilizing current vs. legacy Roles and Permissions. See Roles and Permissions Overview. |
Log remote addresses |
Allows the recording of IP addresses and geolocation by Pendo servers. By default, Pendo logs the IP address of end-users in the raw events that are sent to Pendo. For privacy reasons, we are able to turn this off. |
Require HTTPS Access |
This flag means that users must use an HTTPS URL when accessing the designer. |
Text Capture in Web Applications |
By default, Pendo captures text on a page to help with feature identification. If this can be turned off by either disabling this setting - or by setting the appropriate flag in the installation snippet. |
Obscure Staging Server Names |
Staging server names can be seen in the agent code that is pulled into the page when Pendo runs. If a customer needs to obscure those server names, this setting can be enabled. |
Show Anonymous Visitor Data |
This toggles on/off whether data from Pendo-generated anonymous IDs is shown in the subscription. If it is enabled, and the customer is using anonymous IDs in areas of their application, this can cause the MAU count to increase. |
Enable email functionality |
This flag is set when a user enables Email backup for NPS. |
Do not use data for internal Pendo analysis |
As the name suggests, indicates whether the data collected by the sub can be utilized for Pendo’s internal analytics. |
Click Event Properties |
By default, this setting is Disabled and can only be enabled by a Subscription Admin or a Pendo guest user. Enabling this feature allows Feature Tags to be augmented to collect property state information on the page at the time of a click event. For more information, review the related help documentation. |
Maximum Session Length |
This is the session duration before a sign-in is required. |
Monthly Active Users - Application Unique Users |
This plan counts each visitor on a subscription without eliminating redundant MAUs across multiple applications. This means that if a user uses two different applications on a single subscription, they are counted twice |
Monthly Active Users - Subscription Unique Users |
This plan counts any visitor in multiple applications on a single subscription once and eliminates redundant MAUs across applications. This means that if a user uses two different applications on a single subscription, they are counted once. The selection marked as (Contracted MAU) indicates which plan you're on. |
Web Application Settings
To access the web application settings:
- In the Pendo Navigation bar, go to Settings > Subscription Settings.
- Select your web app and select View App Details.
- Select each of the Settings tabs to view the settings.
Click any of the headings you are interested in to view the Web Application settings.

Show Guides to Anonymous Visitors |
A toggle that determines whether Anonymous Visitors will be included within Guide segmentation. By default, Pendo sets this to “OFF”. |
Track Event Shared Secret |
Key information used for the collection of Track Events. |
CNAME |
Displays information only if CNAME has been configured. For more information, look here. |
Disable Agent Cookies |
Pendo uses several Agent Cookies for various purposes. This allows the ability to disable these cookies, which will have various widespread effects. By default, Pendo sets this to “OFF”. |
Disable Agent User Identification Persistence |
By default, Pendo sets this to “OFF”. |
Count Track Events Received For A Visitor As Time In Application |
A toggle that enables track events to count towards a user’s ‘time in app’. By default, Pendo sets this to “OFF” |
Prevent the web agent from using cookies when local storage is not available |
Pendo web agent loads by default in local storage. If local storage is unavailable for some reason (e.g., it is full, it is not available with the visitor's browser type), then Pendo relies on cookies to load. If security requires this ability to be disabled, you can do so with this toggle. |
Prefer MutationObserver to 500ms timer, when available |
By default, Pendo sets this to “OFF”. |
Disable Global CSS |
Global CSS is a feature offered by Pendo in a legacy fashion. This toggle will bypass any configuration done within Global CSS and rely only on the product’s standard CSS and the styles and themes included within the Pendo guide elements. By default, Pendo sets this to “OFF”. |

Pendo Suggested Pages |
Use this setting to generate recommended rules based on URLs from your event data. Use this feature to accept or delete the recommended tags to quickly tag the pages your Visitors have seen in the last 5 days. If turned on for any application, the Suggested Pages table is visible to the entire subscription. |

Select if your installed snippet deploys the most recent beta or stable version of the agent. Manually hosting the agent is available but not recommended. Select the method used to deliver guide content to the browser. JSONP is the default selection and is recommended for most browsers. |

Suggested Match Class Exclusions |
Exclude classes from the Suggested Match option when tagging features or targeting guides. Please note that HTML classes are case-sensitive. |

Exclude IDs from the Suggested Match option when tagging features or targeting guides. Please note that HTML IDs are case-sensitive. |

Enable Localization | Localization allows your guides and resource centers to support multiple languages and display in the language of your users’ preference. |
Language Preference Metadata | Specify the metadata that identifies your users’ language preferences so that Pendo can accurately localize your guides and resource centers. |
Supported Languages | The list of languages selected for guide translation. Add a language to make it available for translation. These languages are used when determining missing translation behavior. |
Missing Translation Language Behavior | Control if visitors see guides in the default language when a translated version is unavailable. If this is off, a visitor may not see any guides if their language metadata doesn't match a selected supported language. |
Mobile Application Settings
To access the mobile application settings:
- In the Pendo Navigation bar, go to Settings > Subscription Settings.
- Select your mobile app and select View App Details.
- Select the App Details tab to view the settings.
