Supported browsers differ for the Pendo agent, the Pendo application, and the Pendo Visual Design Studio.
Pendo Agent
The agent is the outcome of the JavaScript code you installed because it handles all front-end data collection and renders your guides. The Pendo agent supports and is tested to work with the following browsers:
- Internet Explorer 9 and above (including Microsoft Edge).
- All versions of Chrome, Safari, and Firefox since 2010.
Pendo Application
The Pendo application refers to anything that's accessed through app.pendo.io, including Pendo Feedback. The application supports and is tested to work with the following browsers:
- Microsoft Edge (Latest Version)
- Chrome (Latest Version)
- Firefox (Latest Version)
- Safari (Latest version)
Note: The latest version of Safari is supported for use with the Pendo application. See Pendo Visual Design Studio with Safari v. 13.0.4+ for details on using Safari with Visual Design Studio.
To update an outdated browser, go to the Outdated Browser site with all the latest versions.
Pendo Visual Design Studio with Safari v. 13.0.4+
The Visual Design Studio is the Guide authoring mechanism that launches over your application to allow you to design Guides to see in your app.
Safari implemented a different security called Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) to restrict sharing cookies between first and third-party apps. As of Feb. 20, 2020, ITP (version 2.3) is included in Safari on macOS for Catalina, Mojave, and High Sierra. ITP prevents Pendo from launching the Visual Design Studio because Pendo leverages cookies to launch the Designer over your application. At this point, the Visual Design Studio is not supported in Safari version 13.04+ (in Catalina altogether). As a workaround, you can still access and use the Pendo Visual Design Studio from a different supported browser.
