Iterative.ly: Collaborate to Ship Quality Analytics Faster

Overview

The Iteratively integration makes it easy to define, track, and validate your data before sending it to Pendo for analysis. Product managers, marketers, and developers can collaborate to capture the right data from the start in a fraction of the time. Iteratively supports the Pendo tracking SDK and will automatically generate explicit tracking code for your developers making their lives easy and ensuring that tracking won’t break.

Ingredients You Need

  • Iteratively Account
  • Pendo with API access
  • Engineering and product stakeholders working together

How It Works

Step 1. Create an Iteratively account by signing up at app.iterative.ly/signup

Step 2. In Iteratively, add your sources. Sources represent the main parts of your product, e.g. your iOS, Android, Web, and Backend. Create a new source for every standalone part that will send events to your analytics backends.

Step 3. Create a new destination for Pendo.

Step 4. Determine what events you want to track. An event is a distinct action that a user can perform in your product. Every event has a name, description, sources it applies to (e.g. iOS, Android), and a set of properties.

Step 5. Once your developer installs the Iteratively CLI and pulls down the latest tracking plan they’ll be able to instrument your new events in your product.

Step 6. Once the developer has instrumented the events they can verify everything is correct either locally or by integrating with CI. This updates the tracking status and notifies the team.

Step 7. Once your code changes are released, you’ll be able to analyze high-quality product usage data to inform data-driven decisions in Pendo.  🎉
