Custom Feature Events - Determine if link opened in current tab or new

I've got a list of hyperlinks (<a> tags), and I've set up a Feature tracker to detect when one of the links is clicked. These links can be opened up in the current tab or a new tab.

Is it possible with custom events on the Feature to determine if a hyperlink would be opened in the current tab or a new one?
