How is Device Type identified? Browser cookies or based on size parameters?

Working in healthcare tech means our clients are constantly pressing to have as much knowledge as possible to understand how their members' information is being tracked.
Recently we had a client ask, "how do you know someone is using a tablet versus a mobile phone?"

Hey Suzi,
The Pendo SDK automatically captures and sends device data, including fields such as Device Type, Device Model, and OS Version.
You could filter or segment based on Device Type to distinguish between Mobile and Tablet devices. For specific models, you could use the Device Model field.
