What is the best way to debug my activity in order to ensure the right tags are triggered?

I am experiencing some strange behavior on the paths and funnels that I am analyzing and there I wanted to debug this, to ensure that they are being triggered by the right clicks. Currently, watch replays are not an option due to some network constraints. I have tried to create a segment with myself only but I can't seem to find my Visitor ID anywhere. What is the best practice in these scenarios? Any workaround you came up with?
