User defined variables are being tagged as "Unknown" in GTM

I added the Pendo code via GTM, defined new variables for my application in GTM & added them to the script and also passed the same variables to GTM using data layer. But, after clicking "Preview", GTM is flagging an error that the script contains unknown variables. How do I resolve this error?
