"Remind Me Later" Guide Area in Resource Center?

Does anyone know if it's possible to have guides that are marked as "remind me later" go into a section in the Resource Center so users can access again on their own time?

  • That would be super cool! I'd bet you can do it with segment rules for that module (any user who has clicked the "remind me later" button on these guides) but here are some things to think about:

    1. The first step of each guide will need to be sitewide if you want your users to see these guides from wherever they are when they want to come back to them later.
    2. You'll need your users to refresh their screen for any segmentation rules to take effect (for them to drop into the RC module segment)
    3. You'll need a way (possibly) for users to remove guides from their module if they're done with them?

  • We modified this one. We built another Announcement module for this specifically. On our guides, we have the CTA as "Save for Later", which is a Dismiss CTA action. The announcement segment is anyone who clicked the Save for Later CTA button on the guide.

Alternatively, you can probably do the same thing with Remind Me Later - where the guide will appear on whatever wait period you set, and the announcement would appear with a segment that says "user clicked with guide element <Remind Me Later>".

The announcements stay there until the expiry date that we choose. However, you might be able to also continue the segment to say "user interacted with CTA button on guide" + "user did not interact with CTA button/dismiss button/etc. on announcement" for the announcement to disappear once a user chooses.

You can also have the guide surface in the guide module with similar segmentation; however, we did not go this route because we wanted users to see the content within the module right away.

Liz is right in that the users need to refresh their screen for the segmentation rules to take effect.
