Guide View vs Total View

When reviewing the stats for some previous guide campaigns, I noticed that sometimes the number for the "Guide Views" (from a CSV of all total guides), and the "Total Views" (from the guide metrics page of an individual guide) are different. Can someone help define the difference between these two terms? Thanks!
