Guide Visitors Viewed Clarification

I want to clarify two numbers that I saw differ, but I thought should be the same. What is the difference between the total visitors under the Guide Goals on the Settings page, and the visitors under Top Stats on the Guide Metrics Page. I have seen these two numbers differ drastically different in the same guide (more than double difference) and I'm not sure why.
