Total guide view and guideevents 'guideseen' count discrepancy

On the front-end dashboard, the "Total guide views" and the counts from the 'guide seen' events in the GuideEvents API don't seem to match exactly. The numbers are close but not an exact match. Is there a specific reason for this discrepancy? If I'm trying to pull the total guide views using the GuideEvents API, is there a way to get these numbers to match perfectly? Or should I be focusing on a different guide event type to ensure accuracy?
