Pendo's tagger usually attaches to default selectors in your application's code - things like Classes or IDs. As a result, we highly recommend using these generic attributes for tagging, when it's feasible.
There are certain scenarios where using these options won't work. In those cases, we suggest having your dev team add custom HTML attributes to your source code. Some customers have even added HTML attributes like #pendo-data-id to specifically allow Pendo to better associate to the correct elements in your application.
