Tip : Change Metadata Display Names
Have you passed metadata fields through the Pendo Agent for use in the Pendo UI but don't love the way the field names are showing up?
Example: Pendo Agent Field for Geography = USA-NC. Maybe we simply want this to display in Pendo as "Southeast Territory" because that is the nomenclature your company uses.
If you're an Admin user, it's easy to change the field display names for the meta data you're passing in by navigating to Data Mappings and double clicking the field name you want to update. Below is an example of a renamed field (and the steps I took to get there).

Note that If you change the display name, it will be reflected everywhere that metadata is visible in the Pendo UI — on the account/visitor details, on the column name for reports, on the segment filter rules, etc. Moreover, changing the field name will not change the actual metadata in the Agent.
It's also important to remember that if you delete an Agent type field from the Pendo UI, but do not delete it from your installation snippet, while Pendo will still continue capturing the data, it will not re-populate into the UI. In order to un-delete the field, you will need to contact Technical Support.
Finally, there are certain default fields which can only be updated via the Pendo Agent. For the following fields, it is important that the agent data be reviewed inside of Pendo to ensure that the data-type listed in Pendo matches the actual data-type sent in the snippet. This metadata automatically updates when a user visits a page in your application and passes the fields to Pendo. If an agent metadata field is incorrectly populated, it can only be updated the next time the user visits your application and passes the correct information. These fields cannot be modified manually or through the API.
