    Hey Jonathon Wilson,

I would just like to clarify quickly - are you referring to one of the last settings within the 'General' Subscription Settings?  I believe that is actually "Maximum Session Length" and that corresponds to the duration for which a user will remain logged into the Pendo UI before being kicked back out to the Log In page.

If this is not what you are referring to, then could you provide more specifics on where you're seeing "Minimum Session Length"?  As best I understand, Pendo does not track sessions within your app - it collects event data, regardless of session information.

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not actually seeing "Minimum Session Length" in Pendo. My question was just at what point does Pendo log a "session" for a user. For the purposes of my example, it would be after a user lands on a page in a Pendo-enabled app that passes data back to Pendo. At that point, if I viewed that Visitor's Details page, it would show me all the data we're passing back to Pendo relative to that user and the page/app etc they accessed. My assumption is that it's as soon as the initializer loads and Pendo receives all the data passed through from the application.

But at what point that happens is what I was actually looking for clarification on. Page load? 5 seconds after? etc  Perhaps "session" wasn't the right word. Hopefully, that explanation makes more sense.

    Thanks!

Ah!  Thank you for the clarification - and that's a great question as it's not made obvious.  So Pendo will capture all event data on pages upon which it is installed.  You could see this coming in through the 'Raw Events' within the individual App settings section within the Subscription Settings part of the UI.

However, as you may have noticed, Pendo does not display these events "Live" within our reporting and analytics.  Pendo re-processes data against the tag rules once an hour, roughly at the top of the hour.  Once this is completed, these events will be present within the analytics reports in the Pendo UI.

So to answer your question - there is no 'minimum' before Pendo picks up a user's usage within your product.  But it can take up to 60-90m for Pendo to process the data we've collected and update the analytics for your review.

As a side note to this, it is also worth pointing out that you'll want to make sure your Date filter is set to either "Today" or a "Custom Range" inclusive of the current date if you're interested in viewing this data.  The "Yesterday" and the "Last n Days" filters end at midnight of the current morning, so they do not include any of today's data.  This has been known to trip up some users when they're reviewing data collected within a short timeframe.
