What counts towards the completion % (progress tracker) for guides in the onboarding module?
If you have a guide that is available in the Resource Center via the onboarding module, you can see a completion % (progress tracker) for each guide in that module.
This completion % (progress tracker) advances whenever the user sees a guide step and moves onto the next step. This is true even if the guide is activated without going through the Resource Center (automatic display, target element, badge, programmatic). Pendo doesn't care how the guide was activated when calculating the completion % (progress tracker).

Hi Angela! Can these snippets be used to render some steps "should be counted" and some steps "don't count"? We have a few onboarding tours that utilize various hidden steps with just javascript snippets, meaning the module shows "step 1 of 20", when in reality the customer only sees 10 steps. It is discouraging to the customer to see so many steps but necessary to keep them in for best UX.

These particular code snippets were designed for the Legacy Guide Center. I wouldn't recommend using them for the newer Resource Center.
As for telling Pendo to ignore certain steps for the onboarding progress bar, I consulted with the team and they confirmed that it would require some custom code to be developed. Unfortunately we don't have any code samples in the repository for this situation. If you're interested in getting assistance for creating this type of custom code (and potentially custom code for other situations as well), our Professional Services team can help as a paid engagement (services@pendo.io).
