Making resource center announcements disappear after viewing

I heard about an interesting use case where a company wanted to only display announcements once and after it was viewed, make the announcement disappear. I wanted to share in case anyone else was wondering.
You would just change the segment of the announcement guide to "Not viewed X Announcement Guide ever", so once the users view the announcement, it'll disappear from the resource center.
