What is the timestamp for dates in Segment details?

I am trying to target a guide to users who have not used a certain feature since a specific date.

I am able to set this rule up in the segment, but only the date is shown and not the timestamp.

For the example below, would this be 08/01/2023 00:00:00.000 UTC, 08/01/2023 00:00:00.000 ET, or something else?

  • Hi kaylin kilby I belive this will be based of the users timezone preferences. In this scenario it would be since the end of that date so since 08/01/2023:59:59.000.

    Hope this helps

    Niall.

  • Hello Niall!  Thanks for your response!

It seems like it must be sometime earlier in the day, but I haven't quite cracked the code yet.  I set the date to today (8/3), saw the guide, clicked on the element, and then after leaving the page and coming back to the element, I did not see the guide again.  I do have the guide frequency set to show every time.

I downloaded the user list for the segment before and after clicking, and my user was on there both times, even though I did not see the guide again.  I'm not sure if it just takes a while for the segment list to update or what.

  • From my experience, Pendo uses the timezone of your subscription for user behavior. So if you have users across different timezones, it will still map back to the base timezone in the subscription. It's possible that has changes, but that was the assumption when we last explored this.
