Guide throttling--How long is a "day"?

If I set guide throttling to "1 day" does that mean the user can see a new guide as soon as the calendar date advances or would it actually require 24 hours to pass before they can see a new guide?

    Hey Eric, 1 day should be exactly 24 hours after they view the first guide.
