Give options for Guide "display" and “seen” states by browser, not by Visitor ID
Many of our customers have multiple people sharing a single login. We need a way for Pendo Guides to show and track “seen/dismissed” at the browser level so one person viewing a guide doesn’t suppress it for everyone else.
Problem
In our B2B2B model, shared credentials are common and will take time to eliminate. Today, if one person using a shared login sees or dismisses a guide, no one else using that same login will see it. This limits reach, hurts feature adoption, and creates awkward situations where one user references a guide that others can’t access.
What we need
An option for guides to be evaluated and tracked per browser or device (not just per unique Visitor ID), so each individual using a shared login can see the guide once.
Why it matters
Without this, our ability to use guides for launches and onboarding is severely constrained in real customer environments. With it, we can reliably reach the actual humans using the product, even when accounts share credentials.
Comments
I wonder if you need to update your visitorID format to include a reference to browser, so that each login is truly a unique individual. The visitor ID is what drives that individuality so updating that will separate users on the Pendo side while not impacting their ability to login.
