Launching Guide Based on User Actions

Newer user, here. I'd like to have a guide launch once a user has clicked on the Resource Center 10x, for example. Is there a way to do this?

  • Hey Chad Saleska, welcome!

    You can do this by:

    1. Tagging the resource center as a feature. (Here's a similar post that goes over this).
    2. Then you can add in a segment for users who have used it at least 10 times.

  • Angus Yang I just tried to create a guide served to a Segment like this, and it says I can't include usage-based segments (page views or feature clicks) in guides. Is this a paywall situation, or is it never possible to serve up guides to usage-based Segments?

  • Kim Nichols sorry about that, I actually double checked and you're right guide segments don't allow for number of clicks/views (mainly because that type of calculation would require processing time and could result in delay of guides).

The closest workarounds I can think of are:

    1. Feature used/not used EVER
    2. Export the segment and use the visitor IDs in a CSV upload for your guide segment.
