Resource Center Style & Themes

Hi Team,

I understand that we can customize the style of the RC and Modules. However, When I am in a module for example the Announcements and I am creating/editing an announcement I added to the Module, I want to understand what theme is applied by default.

In guides created outside the RC, you have the ability to create and apply themes. However, when I am in an announcement module guide, I see I can choose titles, subtitles, and paragraphs that are normally set by the theme. (pictured below)

Is there a default theme for RC module guides and if so is it customizable without selecting the custom option on every module guide separately?

  • Tess McGraw although it is not apparent your saved default theme (the one you cannot delete) will be applied when creating Resource Center announcements.

  • Eric Miller So, I know this is old, but I ran into this today. I have a single Theme so it's the default and I updated it and wanted to update each of the announcements. But since there is no way to change/apply the theme to those Announcements within the Resource Center, it appears I can't do this. And when I go to edit them, they seem to be stuck on the old theme. Do you know, is there a way to apply my theme changes to existing Announcments within the Resource Center?

  • James, for the buttons and text elements you can try switching to "Custom" and then back to a theme preset (i.e. "Primary" or "Paragraph") and see if that helps the guide pick up your theme changes. As for the container, I believe Announcements are not referencing the theme settings rather are specific to the announcement. Using saved layouts can be helpful to keep your theming consistent in the Announcements section.

  • Hey thanks Eric Miller, I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but you were right that I was able to, for instance, change a "Title" element to a "Paragraph" and back to "Title" and that then picked up the changes reflected in my updated theme. A little non-intuitive, but that did work in case anybody else comes along.

  • James Glinsek/Eric Miller, thanks for sharing your last comment! I'm in the pickle now. All of my theming was matching in the production view and out of no where reverted back to default and now I can't seem to get any of my custom themes to show in the RC. I was curious, I did try your method (as far as I understood) and was unsuccessful in coaxing it back into the custom theme view... any more pointers?

  • Malachi Hopoate in the Resource Center announcement guides the only theme that will be referenced is the your "default" theme...the one you can't delete in your Themes collection. If you want to customize from that theme you would have to use the Custom dropdown option for your various building blocks within the guide.
