Poll responses

Last updated:

After creating a guide with a poll, you can review poll response metrics to understand how visitors answered your questions. You can see which options they selected, how many responded, and how response rates varied across segments or time periods.

View poll responses

To view poll responses, go to Guides > Guides and select a guide from the list. Guides that include a poll have a Poll Responses tab. You can also access poll metrics from the Guide Metrics tab by selecting a poll question under Polls.

For more information, see View guide metrics.

Filters

Filters control the data displayed in the charts and tables on this tab. The same filters appear on the Guide Metrics tab.

  • Segment. Select a segment to see how specific groups of visitors responded to the poll.
  • Date Range. Restrict data to the selected date range. Predefined ranges include Today, Yesterday, Last 7, 30, 90, or 180 Days. Predefined ranges don't include data from the current day. You can also set a custom range of up to one year.
  • Accounts. Filter data by account.
  • Languages. Filter by language version if you're using Localization for guide translation. All languages configured in the app are available, even if the guide hasn't been translated into them. The filter will only appear if Localization is turned on.

Poll details

The Poll Details section shows summary information about the selected poll step.

  • App. The app where the poll step is shown. For cross-app guides, this is the step’s app.
  • Poll Type. The poll format: Open Text, Multiple Choice, Yes/No, Number Scale, NPS Rating, or NPS Reason.
  • Poll Question. The question text. If there’s more than one poll, select the question you want to view. The details, activity chart, and response table all update to reflect your selection.
  • Responses. Total poll submissions, including repeats from the same visitor.
  • Unique Responses. The number of distinct visitors who submitted a response, and the response rate. Rate = unique responses ÷ visitors seen × 100.
  • Visitors Seen. The number of unique visitors who were shown the poll step.

Poll activity

The Poll Activity chart shows the answer options for the selected poll question and the number of responses each option received. This helps you understand at a glance how visitors responded. For example, you can see which options were most selected or where sentiment skewed.

Poll data is typically available within 15 minutes after the hour. To learn more, see Pendo data processing and visibility.
