As a product manager, you likely have usage goals after you shipped a feature. Pendo goals allow you to measure how many users visit a Page or use a Feature. In this article, we walk through how to add a goal to an event to measure usage and how to use other Pendo features to help you achieve that goal.
Note: Depending on your situation, you might be able to use additional Pendo features for other creative solutions. This article is intended to help you get started.
- Before you can add a goal, ensure that your desired Page or Feature is tagged in Pendo.
- Navigate to your tagged Feature to add a goal (ongoing or time-bound). Your goal will save to the details page so that you have all of your metrics in one location, but you can also add the goal widget to your dashboard to easily monitor the progress of your goal.
- After you create your goal, create a guide to announce the new feature release to your visitors or to educate them on how to use the new functionality. This allows you to capture your visitors' attention and help them try it out.
- After you deploy your feature and Pendo guide, create a funnel to see where visitors are dropping off or getting stuck in their experience.
- Create a path to see where those visitors go and monitor the most common route users take after introducing your new feature.
- If you notice something that can add context to your feature, create a tooltip guide to improve the user experience.
- After the feature has been released for some time, ask users for their feedback in-app through a guide poll.
