This article explains how to set up and manage Slack digests for Agent Analytics. Slack digests send scheduled updates about your AI agent's performance, including key metrics, visitor adoption, and emergent issues, directly to a designated Slack channel.
Before you begin
To create a Slack digest, you need the following:
- The Slack integration Send Pendo data to Slack enabled. See Connect Slack to Pendo.
- Subscription admin or AI Agent Admin permissions in Pendo.
Step 1. Add the Pendo app to a private Slack channel
If you want to send your digest to a private Slack channel, you must add the Pendo app to that channel so that Pendo has access to it.
To add the Pendo app to a channel:
- In Slack, go to the channel you want to connect.
- Type @Pendo in the channel, and select Enter. Slack adds the Pendo app to the channel.
- Alternatively, you can add the Pendo app to the channel by selecting the channel name, then go to Integrations > Apps > Add apps. Search for the Pendo app, then add it.
Once the app has been added to the private Slack channel, the channel becomes available to select within the channel selector in Pendo.
Step 2. Set up a Slack digest
Create a recurring digest to send a summary of your AI agent's performance to a Slack channel on a regular schedule. You can review the Preview section at the bottom of the page to see an example of the Slack message using sample data.
- Go to Product > Agent Analytics from the left-side menu in Pendo.
- Under AI agents, select the Edit settings gear icon next to the relevant agent.
- Select Slack digest in the top-left corner, or scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Under Channel, search for and select the Slack channel where you want to receive the digest. The dropdown list includes all public and select private channels in your Slack workspace.
- Under Frequency, choose how often the digest should post (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly).
- Depending on your frequency, select the specific day of the week or day of the month for delivery.
- Select the delivery time and your preferred timezone.
- Under Segment, choose a segment to filter the data included in the digest.
After all fields are complete, the digest saves automatically.
To stop sending the digest, select Turn off Slack digest next to the Channel field.
