Add Dashboard Widgets data points to the reports in Data Explorer

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how do I add some data points available as widgets in the dashboard in the Data Explorer, so I can get the historical data/trend for them. In this specific case, these are the data points I want to add:

  • Daily Active Users(DAU)
  • Monthly Active Users(MAU)
  • Weekly accounts
  • Weekly visitors

Thanks in advance,

Andrei

  • Hi Andrei Popa,

Thanks for your question in the Discussion Community!

All these data points can be added as widgets to your dashboard:

Here's the example of the Visitors Dashboard with DAU, MAU, and WAU - going back 90 days.

We also have PES which calculates "stickiness", adoption and growth using those DAU, MAU metrics. You can check it out here in this article: https://support.pendo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4408223052443-Product-Engagement-Score-PES-Widget-Overview

Was this what you were looking for? Thanks for checking in!

  • Hi Howard,

Thanks for your reply. I don't want to add the data points mentioned above as a widget in a dashboard - I already have that set up.

What I want to do is to add the the 4 data points I described in my previous message to my reporting, which is located in Behaviour -> Data Explorer. Make sense?

Can you please tell me how can I do that? I don't see the data points available in the data source when I try to create my Reporting from Data Explorer.

  • Hi Andrei Popa,

Thanks for clarifying. In Data Explorer you can pull in number of weekly visitors/accounts using these settings (Change Number of Visitors to Number of Accounts), but DAU/WAU are not possible with Data Explorer.

  • Hi Howard,

    Alright, thanks!

If I would like to see the historical data for DAU & MAU and benchmark that against a previous period, how can do that? So far it seems that benchmarking historical data can only be done in the Data Explorer.

    Thanks,

    Andrei

  • Hi Andrei Popa,

Sorry for the delayed response. I think the best way to track DAU/MAU trends would be to use the PES dashboard widget to see the trends in the last 30-90-180 days.
