The Jira integration connects Pendo with your Jira instance so you can link engineering work to product insights across Listen and Session Replay. For information on setting up the integration, see Set up the Jira integration with Pendo.
You only need to set up the integration with one Jira instance for each Pendo subscription.
Listen
The Jira integration for Listen connects product discovery work in Listen with engineering delivery in Jira, including Jira Product Discovery. You can link ideas and feedback items to any Jira issues, creating a direct connection between customer insights and the work your team is building.
The integration supports status syncing between Jira and Listen. When you link an idea or feedback item to a Jira issue and enable status syncing, status changes in Jira are automatically reflected in the linked idea or feedback item in Listen. This keeps product and engineering teams aligned without manual status tracking.
Status updates flow from Jira to Listen. Changing the status of an idea or feedback item in Listen doesn't update the linked Jira issue.
To summarize, the Jira integration for Listen allows you to:
- Create a new Jira issue or link an existing Jira issue from an idea or feedback item in Listen.
- Open linked Jira issues from an idea or feedback item.
- From an issue in Jira, view and open links to ideas or feedback in Listen.
- Automatically update the status of an idea or feedback item when the linked Jira issue’s status changes, based on your configured status mappings.
- View the high-level details of linked Jira issues from within an idea or feedback item.
- Receive email updates about status changes.
Note: Previously, the above capabilities were limited to only ideas in Listen. You can now link Jira issues with feedback items in Pendo. To do this, you must reauthenticate your Jira integration.
Session Replay
The Jira integration with Session Replay allows you to deliver bug reports to engineering teams in Jira that you can also keep track of in Pendo. Issue fields are automatically populated with information from the replay. Specifically, the integration allows you to:
- Create a Jira issue based on a specified part of a replay.
- Open a linked Jira issue from the replay in Session Replay.
- Open the relevant replay clip from the issue in Jira.
For more information, see Create an issue from a replay.
