The HubSpot integration with Pendo Orchestrate allows you to incorporate existing HubSpot emails into your cross-channel journeys. You can repurpose Hubspot emails to streamline the journey-creation process in Orchestrate. For information about Orchestrate, see Overview of Orchestrate.
Prerequisites
To use the HubSpot integration with Pendo for email journeys in Orchestrate, you must have:
- Pendo Orchestrate included in your subscription.
- Admin permissions in Pendo. For more information, see Roles and permissions.
- Marketing Hub Enterprise with transactional email add-on.
Important: You can only send HubSpot marketing emails from a journey. HubSpot transactional emails aren't supported. For your HubSpot emails to show in the list in Pendo, make sure that when you create and save them in HubSpot, you set the email type to Marketing and convert them to Single send API.
If you get an error message stating that you don't have access to the integration, check that all the prerequisites are met.
Set up the integration
- In Pendo, go to Settings > Integrations.
- Find and open the HubSpot tile.
- Select Set up under HubSpot Email.
- Enter your HubSpot email account under Connect your HubSpot account.
- Select Next. This opens a Connecting Pendo to HubSpot window.
- Select your account. If you don't have an existing account connected, you're prompted to sign in to HubSpot.
- Select the visitor metadata in Pendo that includes your visitor email address. This is so that we can map the email address in Pendo with the email address in HubSpot. If there's no visitor email address, then they don’t receive the email.
- Select Choose Account and then Finish.
You can only connect one HubSpot account to Pendo Orchestrate at a time. To switch accounts, disconnect the current account and connect the new account through the integration's settings.
User experience of the integration
After you've integrated HubSpot with Orchestrate, you can add an existing HubSpot email to a journey in Orchestrate. For full instructions on how to set up a journey in Orchestrate, see Add messages to your journey.
The email must already exist in HubSpot. It must be a marketing email and set as Single send API. You can't edit the HubSpot email from Pendo. Any changes that you make to the subject line of an email from HubSpot automatically updates the subject line of the email in Pendo.
After implementing a journey in Orchestrate that includes a HubSpot email, you can view the email's metrics in HubSpot. Data collection for the email stops when the journey ends.
