Visitors can submit feedback through a custom feedback form in your ideas portal. You can add and remove fields, set which fields are required, and configure the confirmation message visitors see after submitting.
Enable the feedback form
- In Pendo, go to Listen > Portals.
- Find the portal you want to edit.
- Select Edit portal.
- In the portal editor, select Settings.
- In the Feedback form section, the toggle Enable give feedback button to display the feedback form to visitors is enabled by default.
- The toggle Enable idea suggestions allows visitors to search existing ideas when submitting feedback. This is enabled by default when the feedback form is enabled. Idea suggestions reduces duplicate feedback submissions by showing visitors that their request may already be under consideration.
Feedback form fields
The feedback form includes multiple fields by default. You can add optional fields to collect more information from visitors.
Default fields include:
- Dialog title: The name of the feedback form.
- Feedback title: A prompt for visitors' feedback. If you add this field but leave it blank, a title is auto-generated when Explore AI is enabled. If you remove this field, the title defaults to Feedback from <your-portal>.
- Long text: The main question in the feedback form. You can add multiple long text questions.
- Importance: Allows visitors to indicate the priority of their feedback. By default, options are Must have and Nice to have. Both label names are customizable.
- Submit button: Customize the label on the submit button.
Optional fields include:
- Short text: An optional follow-up question. You can add multiple short text questions.
- Info block: Informational text to display in the form.
- App selection: Allows visitors to choose an app. App names are editable.
- Product Area selection: Allows visitors to select a Product Area. Names are editable.
- Image upload: Allows visitors to attach images to their submission. Visitors can upload up to 10 images per submission (JPEG or PNG, up to 5MB each).
Note: A maximum of 10 blocks can be added to a form.
Edit the feedback form
To quickly update the submit button text, hover over the button and select the text or the edit icon. Enter your updated text, then select the checkmark icon to save.
To customize the form fields, open the form editor:
- Select the container around the feedback button, or select Customize feedback form in Settings.
- Expand any field and update the text, or select Add question to insert a new field.
- For short and long text fields, you can select the Required toggle to make the field mandatory for visitors to complete.
- When you're done, select Step 2 (Confirmation message) to customize the message visitors see after submitting. You can edit the Dialog title, Icon, Confirmation message text, and Button fields.
- After you've completed customizing your feedback form, select Done.
- In the portal editor, select the Preview toggle to review the form before publishing.
- Select Save to apply your changes.
