Survey settings

Last updated:

The Settings tab in Sentiment allows you to manage settings for individual surveys, including when and how the survey is shown to visitors to complete. For information on configuring NPS survey settings, see Set up an NPS survey. This article explains the different settings available for CSAT, PMF, and UX-Lite surveys.

Settings are displayed in a grid, with tiles representing a different setting. This article explains what you can do with each setting.

Activation

Set your survey to activate when it's ready to be published.

  • After the survey is activated, the survey status is set to Public.
  • Review and secure approval from your organization before activating. Once a survey is Public, its content is locked and can't be edited.
  • If you need to remove a survey, you can change its status to Disabled.
  • To edit a published survey, clone it, make your changes, and publish the new survey. Disable the original survey at the same time.

Edit in my app

You can select Edit in my app to adjust the survey's placement in your product using the Visual Design Studio.

Note: Editing capabilities are limited in the Visual Design Studio. You can't change survey content in the designer, this must be done in the Question tab of the survey. You can still modify placement, activation, and styling in the designer.

Segment

The Segment section displays the number of visitors who are eligible to receive the survey after it's activated.

  • Eligible visitors are users who've already used your app and match the targeting criteria.
  • Visitors added manually, for example, through a CSV file import, are excluded from this list.

Scheduling

Control when and how a survey is published using the Scheduling options.

  • By default, a survey is shown to each visitor once, or until they complete or dismiss it.
  • To repeat the survey, you can schedule recurring deliveries by configuring the following options:
    • Frequency. How often the survey reappears.
    • Start date and time. Date and time of first activation.
    • Evenly distribute delivery. Spread survey activation over time no not all visitors receive the survey on the same day. For more information see, Even Distribution for surveys in Pendo.

Localization

Add and manage translations of your survey. This is only available to edit if localization is active for your subscription. For more information, see Localization.

Snooze

Allow visitors to dismiss the survey for 24 hours. The snooze option appears on the first step of the survey, giving visitors a way to respond later. You can also enable snooze during survey creation.

Listen

If you have Pendo Listen as part of your subscription, you can send survey responses automatically to Listen to be saved as feedback. You can send future responses or backfill existing survey responses to Listen. For more information about configuration, see Send survey responses to Listen.
