Signals surface automatically generated insights about retention, adoption, engagement, and frustration on your Pendo homepage. This article explains how to share those signals to Microsoft Teams, either as a one-time message or as a recurring digest.
For what signals are and how they're generated, see Signals in Pendo.
You can share signals to Microsoft Teams in two ways:
- Recurring digests that summarize multiple signals.
- One-time messages for individual signals.
Before you begin
To share signals to Microsoft Teams, the following must be in place:
- The Send Messages to Microsoft Teams integration must be enabled. This is a one-time setup completed by a subscription admin. See Connect Microsoft Teams to Pendo.
- Signals must be available on your homepage. This requires Leo enabled in your subscription and a personalized homepage. See Signals in Pendo.
The permissions you need depend on how you share:
- Share a single signal: no special permissions. Any user with access to signals can share one, as long as the integration is enabled.
- Set up or manage a recurring digest: you must be a subscription admin.
Note: You can only share signals to public Microsoft Teams channels. Sending Pendo data to private Microsoft Teams channels isn't currently supported.
Share a signal to Microsoft Teams
Any user with access to signals can share a single signal as a one-time message, as long as the integration is enabled. No admin permissions are required.
To send a one-time message for a specific signal:
-
On any signal, select Actions > Share to Microsoft Teams.
- Select the Microsoft Teams channel where you want to send the signal. The channel picker shows standard and shared channels in public teams where the Pendo app is installed.
- Select Send.
Set up a Microsoft Teams digest
Create a recurring digest to send a summary of signals to a Microsoft Teams channel on a regular schedule. Only one active digest is supported.
Note: You must be a subscription admin to set up or manage a recurring digest.
- Select Get updates in Microsoft Teams on your homepage.
- Under Microsoft Teams digest, select + Create digest.
- Enter a Name for the digest. This appears at the top of the digest for everyone in the selected Microsoft Teams channel.
- Select your preferred Frequency: weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
- Search for and select the Channel where you want to send updates. The dropdown list includes standard and shared channels in public teams where the Pendo app is installed.
- Optionally, in Data preferences, you can choose which data the digest sends: Use my homepage signals or Set custom signals.
- If you select Set custom signals, configure the segment, apps, and events to include in the digest.
- Select Save and schedule to activate your digest.
Manage Microsoft Teams digests
After you set up a Microsoft Teams digest, you can change its name, frequency, and channel, or turn it off.
- Select Get updates in Microsoft Teams on the homepage.
-
Next to the digest, select the ellipsis (three dots).
- To edit, select Edit, then make and save your changes.
- To turn off the digest, select Turn off, then confirm.
