Warning: The following instructions allow you to configure SAML SSO for the first time without help from Pendo Support. If you have one or more existing SAML SSO configurations that you want to add to or edit, contact Pendo Support instead.
You can verify your domains by adding them to the Domain Verification tab in organization settings. To see this tab, you must have SAML SSO included in your Pendo subscription. To turn on SAML SSO, contact Pendo Support.
Domain verification is needed to check that you either own a domain or have permission to manage it, otherwise known as "proof of control".
If immediately verified, the status of your domain changes from Pending to Active after you follow the instructions outlined in Step 1 of this article. If not immediately verified, you must also complete Step 2 in this article.
Step 1. Add your domain to Pendo
This is the first step to verifying your domain.
- In Pendo, go to Settings > Organization settings.
- Open the Domain Verification tab.
- Select Add domain. This opens the Add new domain window.
- Enter your domain and then select Add domain. Your domain then appears in the Domain verification table.
If not immediately verified, you must add the TXT record that we provide to your DNS configuration, outlined in Step 2. Copy the TXT record into your DNS configuration in this article.
Step 2. Copy the TXT record into your DNS configuration
If not immediately verified in Step 1, you need to add the TXT record for your domain to your domain registration. This is a read-only key that you must copy into the DNS configuration of your web hosting provider. If your domain is already verified, you don't need to complete
- In Pendo, go to Settings > Organization settings.
- Open the Domain Verification tab.
- Copy the TXT record for the domain you added to the Domain verification table in Step 1.
- Open and sign in to your DNS provider, such as Cloudflare, Route53, and so on.
