Add Salesforce as a data source in Pendo Predict

This article explains how to connect your Salesforce instance to Pendo Predict so you can use Salesforce as a source when building predictive models.

Requirements

Before you begin, make sure you have:

• A Pendo Predict account
• A Salesforce account with the following permissions:
  • Perform requests at any time
  • Access the identity URL service
  • Access content resources
  • Manage user data via Web browsers
  • Manage user data via APIs

Step 1. Set up the Salesforce source

1. In Pendo Predict, go to the Sources tab.

   

2. Select New Source, then choose Salesforce.

   

3. Enter a name that other users will recognize easily

   

4. Log in to Salesforce when prompted.

5. After successful integration, Salesforce appears as a connected source in the Sources tab.

   

Step 2. Manage the Salesforce source

As the owner of a data source, you can manage its access and ensure the connection is functioning correctly. This includes sharing the source with additional users and testing the connection.

• To test the connection, select the More options icon (three dots), then choose Test connection.
• To share the source, select the More options icon, then choose Share. When shared, other users can use the Salesforce source when building predictive models.
