This article explains how to review and respond to access requests for dashboards you own in Pendo. When someone tries to open a dashboard they don’t have access to, they can request access.
How dashboard access requests work
When someone without access opens a dashboard, they see a permission message with an option to Request access.
After submitting the request, they see a confirmation screen and can cancel the request if needed.
The dashboard owner is notified through:
- An in-app notification in the notification center.
- An email that links directly to the dashboard.
Owners can choose to grant viewer or editor access, or decline the request. The requester is notified through an in-app notification when the request is approved or rejected.
Respond from the notification center
- Select the bell icon in the left-side menu to open the notification center and find the access request notification.
- Choose an access level (Viewer or Editor) from the dropdown.
- Select Accept or Decline.
- Optionally, select Manage access to open the dashboard and review current sharing settings.
The requester receives a notification in Pendo when their request is accepted or declined.
Respond from the dashboard
- Open the dashboard that was requested, then do one of the following:
- Select Share > View access requests in the top-right corner.
- Select Share, then choose Review request in the blue banner at the top of the modal.
- Select Share > View access requests in the top-right corner.
- In the Requests for access modal, choose Viewer or Editor as needed.
- Select Accept or Decline.
Note: You can only manage access requests if you're the dashboard owner.
