Manage dashboard access requests

Last updated:

This article explains how to review and respond to access requests for dashboards you own in Pendo. When someone tries to open a dashboard they don’t have access to, they can request access.

How dashboard access requests work

When someone without access opens a dashboard, they see a permission message with an option to Request access.

After submitting the request, they see a confirmation screen and can cancel the request if needed.

The dashboard owner is notified through:

  • An in-app notification in the notification center.
  • An email that links directly to the dashboard.

Owners can choose to grant viewer or editor access, or decline the request. The requester is notified through an in-app notification when the request is approved or rejected.

Respond from the notification center

  1. Select the bell icon in the left-side menu to open the notification center and find the access request notification.

  2. Choose an access level (Viewer or Editor) from the dropdown.
  3. Select Accept or Decline.
  4. Optionally, select Manage access to open the dashboard and review current sharing settings.

The requester receives a notification in Pendo when their request is accepted or declined.

Respond from the dashboard

  1. Open the dashboard that was requested, then do one of the following:
    • Select Share > View access requests in the top-right corner.
