These release notes provide a list of changes in Orchestrate that affect you as they occur, so you can learn about recent changes before referencing the relevant documentation.
June 2026
Export journey metrics
You can now export journey data to share with stakeholders who don't have access to Pendo. From the Metrics tab, select the download icon in the top-right corner of any section to export it as a CSV, or select Download PDF from the ⋯ menu at the top right of the journey to export a visual summary of the page. For more information, see Monitor journey results
Journey throttling
You can now limit the number of active journeys a visitor can be part of at the same time using Journey throttling. When a visitor reaches the limit, they won't enter another journey until they exit one. This helps you reduce overlapping experiences and prevent message fatigue. You can also Ignore journey throttling for an individual journey, so that critical flows still reach visitors who have already reached their cap. For more information, see Create and customize a journey.
May 2026
Email throttling
You can now limit how many marketing emails each visitor receives across your subscription within a configurable time window. Throttling applies to both standalone emails and emails sent within journeys. Transactional emails are excluded automatically, and you can bypass throttling for individual emails when needed. This helps you reduce over-messaging while still allowing critical communications to reach visitors. For more information, see Create and send an email.
Journey map metrics
You can now turn on metrics directly on the journey map to see how visitors are progressing through each step. Metrics appear on guide and email steps and show eligible visitors, delivery, and engagement data for each step. This helps you understand visitor data through a journey, including why visitor counts may vary at different steps due to dynamic segments or a journey's logic. For more information, see Journey map metrics.
April 2026
Set a journey segment as entry criteria
You can now select Use this segment as entry criteria when configuring your journey segment, so that the segment only determines who enters the journey and visitors will continue through all steps even if they later leave the segment. For more information, see Create and customize a journey.
March 2026
Configure the Marketo integration to send emails using a Lead ID
You can now configure the Marketo email integration in Orchestrate to use a Marketo Lead ID instead of an email address to identify visitors in Marketo. Previously, the integration required an email address stored as visitor metadata. With this update, you can select whether your visitor metadata field contains an email address or a Marketo Lead ID during integration setup. For more information, see Send Marketo campaigns from a journey in Orchestrate.
December 2025
Create a cross-app journey
You can now include messages (guides and emails) across multiple apps in a single journey. With cross-app journeys, messages are no longer restricted to the journey app, which makes it easier to support complex workflows, and helps you maintain consistent communication across the tools your users rely on. The journey goal remains limited to the application assigned to the journey itself. For more information, see Create and customize a journey.
November 2025
Send transactional emails
You can now send transactional emails from Orchestrate, which means that operational messages and essential updates will always reach users, even if they’ve unsubscribed from email communications. Transactional emails bypass subscription settings and don’t include an unsubscribe link, and now appear as a default email template. For more information, see Marketing and transactional email templates.
Connect steps in a journey
You can now connect one journey step to another after a conditional split. This lets you bring all users back to a shared step, even if they followed different branches earlier in the journey. Use this to simplify complex journeys and reduce duplication. For more information, see Connect steps following a split.
Send unsubscribe events via webhooks
You can now send unsubscribe events from Orchestrate to other systems in real time using webhooks. This helps ensure your other email systems also maintain an accurate and consistent record of unsubscribed users. For more information, see Email subscription settings.
October 2025
Use the same domain across multiple subscriptions
You can now configure a single email domain to send messages from multiple Pendo subscriptions. This supports brand consistency for organizations that manage more than one subscription. For more information, see Organization-level domain.
September 2025
Personalize emails with any visitor and account attributes
You can now insert dynamic values from visitor and account metadata, in addition to agent metadata, to tailor email text, links, and buttons. This allows you to customize content based on attributes such as a visitor’s name, title, or associated account. For more information, see Personalize your email.
Track email engagement at the element level
Orchestrate now provides visibility into the engagement of specific links within email and in-app content. This enhancement goes beyond reporting overall number of clicks, by showing exactly which links users engaged with. For more information, see Interpret email metrics.
Reach inactive visitors
You can now segment journeys to visitors who were recently created in Pendo but haven’t had any in-app activity. This helps you reach users added through other sources, like email signups, even if they haven’t signed in yet. For more information, see Journey settings.
Trigger messages based on specific events
You can now trigger a message in a journey to be sent when a specific event occurs. This allows you to time messages based on actual user behavior and attributes instead of a fixed schedule, helping you deliver more relevant and timely guidance. For more information, see Scheduling and triggering messages.
Filter visitor reports by email engagement
Visitor reports now include columns for email engagement, allowing you to filter and analyze visitors based on how they interacted with emails sent through Orchestrate. For more information, see Visitor reports.
August 2025
Edit active or paused journeys
You can now update message content and certain journey settings in active and paused journeys, without starting over or disrupting visitor progress. For more information, see Editing an active or paused journey.
Don’t send on weekends
You can now opt to pause message delivery on Saturdays and Sundays. Any messages scheduled for weekends are automatically delayed until the next weekday. This keeps campaigns aligned with business day timing. For full details, see Journey settings.
July 2025
Clone a journey
You can now clone an entire journey, including all branches and paths. This allows you to replicate successful engagement flows quickly, saving time and reducing setup errors. For more information, see Create a journey.
Pause or resume journeys
You can now pause or resume a live journey without disabling it. This allows you to temporarily halt a journey and restart it later without duplication or data loss. For more information, see Create a journey.
Filter journey results
You can now filter journeys on both the landing page and the metrics page. This makes it easier to find and analyze specific journeys. For more information, see Monitor journey results.
Include visitors without activity in journeys (beta)
You can now include visitors without activity in journeys. This helps you re-engage inactive visitors with targeted messaging. For more information, see Create a journey.
Set a Track Event as a journey goal
You can now select a Track Event as a type of journey goal. This allows you to track a broader range of user behavior, including backend events, API calls, or other actions defined in your install script. For more information, see Create a journey.
June 2025
Branching in beta
You can use branching in Orchestrate to set up diverging splits within a journey that visitors are sent down based on conditions set for each split. This lets you create dynamic journeys where each visitor receives messaging tailored to their metadata or app activity. For more information, see Orchestrate branching overview (beta).
Schedule journeys
You can now schedule a journey to start as soon as fifteen minutes from the time you're scheduling it. This helps you get valuable information to users faster than ever before. For more information, see Create a journey.
April 2025
Marketo integration
You can now integrate Marketo campaigns into your cross-channel journeys, which allows you to track email engagement. For more information, see Send Marketo campaigns from a journey in Orchestrate.
February 2025
Journey templates
You can now use Journey templates to quickly set up a journey based on your use case, including welcoming new users, announcing a feature, and re-engaging inactive users. For more information, see Create a journey.
Hyperlinked images and side-by-side layout in email
You can now add hyperlinked images to emails, which allows users to click images to navigate to links. You can also set up images and text to appear side by side in an email for cleaner, more organized layouts. For more information, see Create an email.
Create a segment based on email interactions
You can now use email engagement data to create new targeted behavior-driven segments. This allows you to personalize email content and save yourself time creating the segment. For more information, see Create an email.
Create new emails from templates
You can now create a new email from an email template, allowing you to quickly spin up emails based on common use cases. For more information, see Create an email.
January 2025
Personalize your email
You can now use visitor and account metadata to personalize your email content to boost visitor engagement. For more information, see Create an email.
Create a segment based on journey interactions
You can now create segments based on visitor behavior data from journey interactions. This allows you to harness behavioral data from journeys to create highly targeted segments, enabling precise personalization and smarter targeting that improves effectiveness, boosts engagement, and saves time in audience segmentation efforts. For more information, see Create a journey.
Clone an existing guide
You can now clone an existing guide created outside of Orchestrate and add it to your journey to speed up the creation process. For more information, see Add messages to your journey.
View which visitors achieved or didn't achieve the journey goal
You can now filter your visitors list to see who achieved the journey goal and who didn't. For more information, see Monitor journey results.
December 2024
Create a journey without a goal
You can now create a journey without a goal, ensuring all visitors receive every message in sequence, regardless of whether they achieve the journey goal or not. This is useful for journeys for informational campaigns or step-by-step flows, such as onboarding. For more information, see Create a journey.
Set up and verify an email domain
You can now set up and verify your own email domain in Pendo. For more information, see Set up and verify an email domain in Pendo.
Delete emails
You can now delete single or multiple standalone emails from the Emails table. For more information, see Create an email.
October 2024
Orchestrate
With emails and guides working together, you can build cross-channel journeys powered by product data to encourage your visitors to achieve product goals. For more information, see Create a journey and Add messages to your journey.
As your journey is running, you can monitor the results to see metrics about visitor engagement with the journey and how many visitors achieved the journey goal. For more information, see Monitor journey results.
You can also create a single send email to increase feature adoption or announce new features. This allows you to engage with your visitors outside the app, encouraging them to revisit the app or to try it for the first time. For more information, see Create an email.
