Group funnels by metadata

You can now group funnels by visitor and account metadata. This helps you analyze conversion rates among different groups of users and identify which groups are completing the funnel at a higher or lower rate. To learn more, see Funnels.

Application usage segment rules

You can now create segment rules based on application usage, including if a visitor has ever used a specific app or if they used the app within a specific time period. These rules are eligible for guide targeting. To learn more about segment rules, see Segments.

Visitor activity log hides inactive days

The visitor activity log now ignores days where the visitor wasn't active in your app. When using the date picker, inactive days are hidden and not available for selection. When selecting Previous day or Next day, you're now directed to the previous or next day with activity, rather than the previous or next calendar day. To learn more, see View visitor activity.

August 2023

App filters added to dashboard widgets

You can now filter by app on the Guide Overview and Most Seen Guides dashboard widgets. This addition can help you better understand how a specific app's guidance program is doing.

Improved dashboard search

The search field in the dashboard directory now searches across all table fields with string (text) values, including the Created By and Last Updated By values. Prior to this change, the search field only considered name and description values.

Time-based segment rules for guide views

You can now create segment rules based on when a visitor viewed a specific guide. Previously, options were limited to Viewed = ever and Not Viewed = ever. Now, you can also choose Last Viewed and specify operators like since, beforewithin lastnot within last, and between along with specific dates or days. Additionally, for Viewed, you can now select at least and at most to indicate the minimum and maximum number of times a guide was viewed by a visitor. These rules are eligible for guide targeting. To learn more about segment rules, see Segments.

Time to First Use dashboard widget

The Core Events: Time to First Use dashboard widget is now named Time to First Use. With this change, you can now measure how long it takes visitors to first engage with any Feature, Page, and Track Event in your app. Prior to this change, you could only select Core Events.

You can now set your own default or "home" dashboard, which shows immediately upon logging into Pendo or selecting the Pendo logo in the top-left corner of the app. To learn more, see Set a home dashboard.

Improvements to Data Explorer widget

When the Data Explorer dashboard widget shows a donut chart and is reduced to half width, the measure is now positioned above the chart and labels appear upon hover to enhance readability.

Search account reports

You can now search for specific report names in the Account Reports tab on the Accounts page.

Frozen first column on user reports

The first column in visitor and account reports, which contains the Visitor or Account ID, now remains fixed while scrolling horizontally. To learn more, see Interpret your visitor report or Interpret your account report.

Updated Details component

The entire Details dropdown component on the Details pages for visitors, accounts, Pages, Features, and Track Events is now clickable. This is aligned with how the component used to behave prior to a recent architectural change, which resulted in you having to select the dropdown arrow on the far-right side of the component.

Updated Segments table

Added a Last updated by column to the Segments table in People > Segments that lists the last Pendo user to update a segment.

Dashboard widget resizing

You can now resize the width of your dashboard widgets, allowing you to customize the display based on your preferences. With this update, you can adjust the width of widgets to occupy either half or the entire page. You can also adjust the height of the Text Block widget. See Modify dashboard widgets to learn more.

Before this update, you would have to remove the Product Area assignment from all of those items before you were allowed to delete the Product Area. To learn more, see View and manage Product Areas.

Report-level filters

You can now apply event property filters at the report level in Data Explorer in the Report Filters section of the query builder. Report-level filters allow you to apply the filters to all events selected for the query, removing the need to apply the same filter to multiple events. Any filters applied at the report level override event property filters applied on individual events. To learn more, see Apply event property filters.

New metrics and design for funnels

Funnels now include two new metrics at the top of the Funnel section, above the chart: total conversion rate and average completion time. We also improved the funnel chart to use more accessible colors; contain step-specific data upon hover; and include clearer indications of how many visitors continued, dropped off, or completed the funnel. To learn more, see Funnels.

Dashboard-level filters

You can now apply filters at the dashboard level. This allows you to update the segment, date range, app, or account for most widgets contained in a dashboard without having to edit every widget individually. To learn more, see Filter your dashboard.

You can now apply up to five groupings in Data Explorer in the Group By section of the query builder. To learn more, see Categorize with groupings.

Mobile global event properties

By default, the dropdown list only contains the first 400 values, but you can search across the entire range of values.

"Any Activity" event property filters

You can now use event property filters when reporting on Any Activity events in Data Explorer. Only global event properties are supported when viewing data for Any Activity. To learn more, see Event properties in Data Explorer.

Guide eligibility in segments

Event property filters

You can now filter by event properties on individual events in Data Explorer, including specific device data and custom event properties. You can also search for and select specific values rather than needing to enter these values manually. To learn more, see Apply event property filters.
